Our Covenant
Calvary Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist church that has served the Benson, Arizona area for fifteen years. The Lord has blessed us with beautiful 12-acre campus on which we have separate buildings for worship, fellowship, Sunday School and our youth programs.  We have an ample parking area that even our visitors who drive RV's or tractor-trailers can get into and out of easily.

Our church is easily accessible from anywhere in Southern Arizona. Just 40 minutes east on Interstate 10 from Tucson, Arizona makes it a convenient location.  Click here for driving directions from points East, South and West.

We are self-governing and self-supporting. The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The King James Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.Click here to read our Statement of Faith.  Click here to read our Covenant.

At Calvary Baptist Church, we have one message-the message of the Lord Jesus Christ, and one ministry-the ministry He has given us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  Our church preaches that message in a number of different ways.  Click here to read about the various ways that we spread the gospel.

About Independent Baptist Churches

There are more than 15,000 independent Baptist churches in America and at least 10,000 independent Baptist missionaries serving on mission fields worldwide.

Every independent Baptist church is an autonomous congregation, self-governing and self-supporting.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement  of  this church in knowledge,  holiness  and comfort; to promote its  prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines; to give it a sacred preeminence over all institutions of human origin; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.

We also engage to maintain family and private devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred, acquaintances, and all others; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful to our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all gossiping, tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of the Savior.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy of speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior, to secure reconciliation without delay.

We moreover engage, that when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible, unite with another church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
